The Way

This neighborhood is too dangerous to minister in person, so a sign is better.

Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Jam

On the Friday get-a-way before Memorial Day weekend, there was an overturned big rig fire which closed down both directions of a major So-Cal freeway. The other outbound routes (which I have to take to get home) were all jammed. All the side streets were also grid-locked. Whittier Sheriffs had planned a DUI/Drivers License Check Point on Whittier Blvd at SIX pm on Friday of a holiday weekend. Brilliant. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get home.

One of the things I hate the most:

What is this? Cheap marketing? Is this really the best job these people can get? Aren't they all just speed-freaks? And now companies are paying for their drug habits? It makes our cities look cheap and trashy. When will this trend STOP? Is this an original "American" idea? It must be. It's really stupid.

Salvation! ...mountain!

Leonard is one of the most interesting artists I've ever met. If you've never heard of Salvation Mountain, look into it. If you're near San Diego or Palm Springs...take the short road trip to experience this place in person!! Leonard is getting pretty old; not sure who will care for it and build it when he is gone...plus his tour and explanation of the mountain is wonderful and interesting!
